While the BJP’s top leaders like Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and Narottam Mishra are focused on strengthening the party in Bihar ahead of crucial elections, the party is facing significant internal rebellion in Madhya Pradesh. In the Shahpura region of Dindori district, several senior and active BJP office bearers have resigned en masse from party membership as well as organizational responsibilities, sending shockwaves through the state unit.

The resignations have been submitted to state BJP President Hemant Khandelwal, citing neglect, factionalism, and arbitrary decision-making as primary reasons. Among the resigning leaders are Jitendra Chandel (district president of BJP Kisan Morcha, Dindori), Devidin Jharia (district member), Saroj Paraste and Devkaran Paraste (former sarpanches and district members), and Motibai Taikam (district member).

They have leveled serious accusations against the local MLA and district president, alleging personal interests, bias, and anti-organizational conduct that has harmed the party’s reputation. Reports indicate widespread dissatisfaction among BJP supporters due to the district president’s unilateral style. The dissent reached such a point that a no-trust motion was even moved against the district president.

The letters of resignation note that the district president was not a long-time BJP worker but joined the party only after becoming president and has since weakened the party with her autocratic approach. Earlier, Tekeshwar Sahu, BJP backward class morcha district president, also resigned raising similar concerns about the leadership and functioning.

Following these collective resignations, a political upheaval has shaken Shahpura’s local BJP unit. Political analysts suggest this internal strife could affect the BJP’s calculations in the coming Bihar polls and put pressure on state leadership. As of now, the local BJP leadership has refrained from making any official statement regarding the crisis.

This internal party feud exposes challenges within Madhya Pradesh BJP and underscores the complexity of managing regional factions as the party eyes Bihar’s electoral battleground.
