Big News Channel Survey Predicts NDA Retains Power in Bihar Assembly Elections, Tejashwi Faces Tough Challenge
As campaigning ends ahead of the first phase of voting for the Bihar Assembly Elections, the atmosphere in the state is electric. The latest survey from CS Chanakya Strategy, disclosed by India’s largest news channel, suggests a nail-biting contest but forecasts NDA’s victory yet again, similar to the 2020 results.
Bihar’s assembly consists of 243 seats, with 122 needed to form a government. According to the survey, NDA is expected to win between 128 and 134 seats, comfortably surpassing the majority mark. The Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) is projected to secure 102–108 seats, trailing behind NDA. The opposition’s tally marks only a slight decrease from the last elections, indicating a closely fought battle.
Other parties — including Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj, Mayawati’s BSP, and Owaisi’s AIMIM — are estimated to win 5 to 9 seats in total. The survey emphasizes that the margin for victory is slim, with the possibility that the final outcome could still swing until the last phase of voting.
Bihar’s Assembly elections are being conducted in two phases. The first phase, covering 121 seats, will take place on November 6, from 7 AM to 6 PM. The second phase will be held for the remaining 122 seats on November 11, and results will be declared on November 14.
The Chanakya Strategy survey underscores once again the intense contest between NDA and Mahagathbandhan, likely resulting in NDA retaining power in Bihar, putting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in a strong position to form the government once more.
This forecast reflects ongoing trends of competitive politics in Bihar, with all eyes on Tejashwi Yadav and whether he can break the NDA’s hold on the state.
