Congress Leader Kanhaiya Kumar Makes Bold Claim: ‘Central Government Will Fall After Bihar Elections’
Congress leader and NSUI in-charge Kanhaiya Kumar has ignited political debate with his provocative statement ahead of the crucial Bihar Assembly elections, asserting that the outcome could lead to the downfall of the Narendra Modi-led central government.
At recent rallies and press conferences, Kumar lashed out at the NDA “double-engine government” (in power at both centre and state), accusing it of “vote theft” and widespread corruption. He stated that the fight against electoral manipulation is not just about saving democracy but also about exposing the failure of the ruling alliance to tackle unemployment, inflation, and migration in Bihar.
Kanhaiya claimed that the government in both Delhi and Patna is riddled with profiteering and public resource diversion, referring specifically to the Bhagalpur Power Plant deal awarded to the Adani Group at an exceptionally low rate—a move he alleges has diverted profits away from Bihar’s people to corporates close to the government. He argued that the centre and state have used their administrative power to benefit private interests at the expense of the poor and questioned 20 years of BJP-JDU governance in Bihar.
With the Congress launching its “20 Years, 20 Questions” campaign to challenge the ruling NDA, Kumar suggested that an anti-incumbency wave in Bihar could spark political upheaval in New Delhi. He underscored the historic importance of Bihar in shaping national discourse and said that if the NDA loses Bihar, cracks will appear in the central government—implying its eventual collapse.
Kanhaiya’s comments have sent ripples through political circles, with both alliance and opposition parties watching closely as the state election could influence national politics. As the campaign heats up, his bold prediction has become a talking point among voters and rivals alike.
