Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Begins 9-Day Valmiki Ramayana Discourse in Sultanpur, Speaks on CJI Controversy and Social Trends
Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh – October 11, 2025: Renowned spiritual leader Jagadguru Rambhadracharya has arrived at Bijethua Mahaveeran Dham in Sultanpur to deliver a nine-day discourse on the Valmiki Ramayana. During his visit, the revered scholar addressed the media and expressed his views on recent national issues, including the controversy surrounding Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice B.R. Gavai, as well as the trending slogans “I Love Mohammad” and “I Love Mahadev.”
Speaking on the recent incident involving an attempted shoe attack on Justice B.R. Gavai in court, Rambhadracharya strongly condemned the act, stating, “Throwing a shoe is absolutely wrong. Such actions have no place in a civilized society.” However, he also criticized Chief Justice Gavai’s conduct, saying, “I know the full case. The Chief Justice acted beyond the dignity of his position. I have seen many CJIs in my lifetime, but none has acted in such a manner before. Though the attack was unjustified, his words and actions were also inappropriate.”
Supports Economic-Based Reservation
On the issue of reservation, the Jagadguru reiterated his long-standing stance: “There should be no reservation based on caste. It should be provided based on economic criteria.” He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on promoting indigenous goods and appealed to the public to embrace Swadeshi products wholeheartedly.
Praises ‘I Love Mahadev’ Trend
Rambhadracharya also commented on the recent social media wave, appreciating the “I Love Mahadev” trend, which emerged in response to the “I Love Mohammad” slogan. “It’s a positive expression of faith, and I welcome the spiritual sentiment behind it,” he said.
Acknowledges RSS and PM Modi
Marking the 100th anniversary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), he lauded the organization’s contribution to the nation, adding that he had sent a video message congratulating them on completing a century of service.
When asked about the anticipated visit of Prime Minister Modi to the Bijethua Mahotsav, he responded, “We are trying. This time, we arrived a bit early because Hanuman ji appeared in a dream and inspired us to begin the Ramayana Katha earlier than planned.”
Thousands Attend Grand Procession
A grand Kalash Yatra (holy urn procession) was organized at Bijethua Mahaveeran Dham, attended by thousands of women and children. For the second consecutive year, Jagadguru Rambhadracharya has come to deliver the spiritual discourse at this sacred venue.
The event is being organized under the leadership of Vivek Tiwari, CEO of Satya Microfinance, and Rajesh Gautam, MLA from Kadipur.
