The political climate in Bihar has heated up as former Chief Minister Rabri Devi launched a scathing criticism against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has failed to bring real development to Bihar. Speaking amid a busy election season, Rabri Devi questioned the constant rallies and campaigns conducted by top NDA leaders, suggesting their need to repeatedly explain their achievements points to underlying public dissatisfaction.

Rabri Devi stated, “If Bihar had truly seen development in 20 years under NDA rule, there would be no need for such frequent rallies and campaigns. Why do they feel compelled to repeatedly prove their progress to people?” She further accused the NDA government of betraying the people of Bihar, and asserted that the public now desires change. “We are meeting with voters across the state, and it is clear that citizens are in the mood for a change. This time, power is in the hands of the people,” she said.

She went on to allege that Prime Minister Modi “sold the country off to private hands” and claimed all public wealth is being diverted to benefit a select few. Rabri Devi also targeted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing him of a Rs 70,000 crore scam that, she says, is not being discussed or investigated. “Laluji was punished without proof, but we will fight in court,” she added, referencing the treatment of her husband, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

According to Rabri Devi, the reason top leaders like Modi and Amit Shah are constantly visiting Bihar is their fear of electoral defeat. “They know their government is on its way out, so they keep coming back to campaign and convince the public,” she commented.

Political analysts read these comments as part of a wider narrative shift, as opposition leaders seek to rally voters and challenge the incumbency of the NDA. The coming weeks are expected to see further escalation in political rhetoric as Bihar moves closer to election day.
