A nine-year-old married woman, mother of four children, went missing 25 days ago, plunging her family into despair. The incident happened in Aliganj Kotwali area of Etah district, Uttar Pradesh. The children returned from school to find their mother missing, and inquiries with neighbors and relatives yielded no news.
The desperate family reported the disappearance to the local police. During investigations, the police questioned the family about the missing woman’s social media presence. Surprisingly, neither the husband, children, nor the mother-in-law were aware of her social media account. However, the mother-in-law revealed that whenever her son went to work, his wife was often heard talking on the phone, sparking a lead.
Following this tip, police accessed the woman’s phone records and social media activity. After thorough monitoring, law enforcement traced her to an Instagram lover’s residence. The woman was recovered after 24 days and produced before the Aliganj SDM court on November 3.
Despite the reunion, the woman expressed her intention to stay with her Instagram partner. In court, the 28-year-old explained that four months ago she connected with a young man from Badaun via Instagram. Their initial conversations blossomed into love. She also alleged that her husband is an alcoholic who subjected her to daily abuse and coerced her into relationships with other men. Unable to bear the harassment, she fled with her lover.
The husband was left stunned by her claims in court, while the children and mother-in-law broke down in tears.
